Happy Spring Week

We are in the second week of the school Easter holidays here and happily I have also been off work all week.

I have enjoyed spending lots of time with my little family...

We have been out and about and even managed a picnic this week! We have also been enjoying walks after dinner each evening and the weather has been so lovely that even just being in the garden has been a pleasure. Miss M and I have done quite a lot of crafty activities together too which has been great - I love to spend time with my best girl making and baking. We made an Easter tree using some twigs which we collected on one of our walks. I crocheted a few flowers to hang on the branches and Miss M decorated it completely on her own with the flowers, sweet little chicks, ribbons and colourful eggs. I think she has made a really good job of it and it looks so pretty on the kitchen table...

I still have the sewing bug and have sewn another skirt with a bunny appliqué as a gift for my little niece. I am still loving this tutorial so much...

We made an Easter cake this morning which Miss M has decorated...you can tell that we really like the fluffy little yellow chicks in this house! We are having lunch with friends today and will be taking the cake with us as a little gift to them...

So that has pretty much been our week! I am working for all of the Easter weekend but G and Miss M have plans to do some egg painting and have an Easter egg hunt in the garden. I feel that I have had a good week though so I don't feel that I am missing out too much! I just love spring, I think it may be my favourite season of all...

Wishing you all a lovely Easter!

X

  2. What a fun week. I haven't done our tree yet I am waiting for my grandsons to arrive this afternoon so that we can do it together. A bit of a trip down memory lane when we did it with our daughters. Love the skirt, the bunny on it just finishes it off. Have a great Easter.

  7. Lovely Marianne what a glorious post, so full of light and colour. As always you strike the right note. I love your cake it is really special and the little skirt is a delight. I had a look at the tutorial and it is so clear I am thinking of making a couple of these skirts for the little Peeps, you can do so much with them. Thank you for directing us all to this tutorial. I hope you don't work too hard over the Easter break, it is such a shame. I am very conscious that you do work very long hours and I don't know how you fit it all in - you are a superwoman Marianne, an inspiration to us all. Have a lovely time over the next few days. Sending you huge hugs and loves
