This Week

Has been a week of....

...birthday celebrations for both myself and G...

...loving every stitch of my Pink Milk inspired stripy blanket. This one is for my Miss M...

...enjoying early evening beach walks with my little family...

...sewing another skirt. This one is for me - a nice little comfy summer skirt. I love the tiny hearts on the fabric. I am looking forward to the weather being warm enough to wear it...

...planning what I am going to make with my new fabric. G gave me this for my birthday, it is 2 metres of soft cotton lawn and I adore the pattern, I just love floral prints. I think I would like to make a Sorbetto top for myself with it. Has anyone used this pattern before? Any tips will be very welcome...

...trying to decide what to do with this gorgeous crochet trim. Also a birthday gift from G. I'm not quite sure what I will do with this yet but I think I may use it to embellish something for Miss M...

So it has been a busy week with work etc but when I look back at the weeks photographs, I can see that there were lots of lovely things happening as well with a fair amount of crafting time too which always makes me happy!

X

  3. Happy belated birthday Marianne!! I love your makes, both the scarf and the skirt. Did you follow the same technique as the one you use for your daughter's one? you used a very pretty fabric fabric for it. I love Colette patterns but have never made the Sorbetto. I have the Violet Shirt pattern at home but I have put it on hold for the moment as I think it is not quite for beginners....and I feel I need to do more sewing before I tackle that one.
One of my favourite garment sewing blogs at the moment is Tilly and the buttons. Have you ever come across it? She was in the Great British sewing bee last year and her latest Coco pattern is great, the first one on my to do list. It is pretty and looks quite simple. Hope you have a lovely week! Pati x

    1. Thank you for the birthday wished! Yes, for my skirt I used the same method as for the ones I made for my daughter. Nice and simple.
I absolutely love Tilly's blog! I discovered it recently, it's great and in fact I bough her book today which looks fantastic...I am hoping to work my way through it. Hopefully that's not too ambitious! Hope you're having a great weekend so far.

  4. Happy Birthday Marianne! I love the fabric that you received as a present, what a great idea. I have added a fabric I really like to my universal Amazon wish list in the hope that the hint will be strong enough....The crochet trim would look amazing on some plain white bedding or one of the skirts you have been making. Have a great week! xx

  7. Happy Birthday to you and G, lovely Marianne, and weren't you spoiled with lovely fabric and trim - that trim would look gorgeous on a skirt or top so long as the main fabric didn't clash with the pattern. How sweet your man is! Your crochet stripes are looking great, as is your sweet blue heart skirt, and I do hope the weather soon improves for you! I popped over and had a quick look at the top you are considering and think it's a great choice! Happy week lovely, love, Joy xoxo

  15. Happy Birthday. I have not made the Sorbetto but I made Tilly's Mathilde blouse and that was nice because I think you are quite small so it looks really good. I took some out of the sleeves because they were just a bit too blousy for me. I also have some of that time in purple dots, black and white dots and a floral one - not used it yet though. jo x

  35. Oh no I missed your Birthday. Please accept my apologies. I hope you both had a fabulous time and enjoyed your days respectively. It seems like the man did good, some rather gorgeous fabric and no I haven't come across that top before, but I am going to have a good look at it and can't wait to see yours made. Pretty crochet trim too, oh so many options. Hold on to it if yourre not sure the time will come when you know exactly what you want to do with it. I have so missed catching up with you! Hope you are keeping well sweetie. Sending you much love xoxo
