Making and baking

I am making a scarf for my Miss M. I love the pink yarn, it's so thick and soft. This is knitting up pretty quickly and I'm enjoying working on it in the evenings. I'm also planning to knit a wee beret to match, then we will be all prepared for the colder weather....

I'm still slowly working away on my granny squares blanket and I'm still sewing in those ends...

I enjoyed making these little fairy cakes this morning. I love to bake and I know that Miss M will really enjoy having one of these with her milk when she gets home from school in a wee while...

I haven't had much time for blogging or visiting blogs lately - I have been really busy with work, family, friends, Brownies...and the list goes on! But I hope to visit you all over the next few days to catch up with you all!

The Weekend

We went along to the Scottish Airshow this weekend, it was a really good event. I loved this heart in the sky and we all particularly enjoyed the Blades aerobatic display team - they were fantastic and such fun to watch...

I managed a wee bit of crochet over this weekend as well. I now only have six squares left to make for my blanket! I am aiming to make 144 in total. I'm really trying not to think of all those ends I will have to sew in...

I picked a little posy of flowers from the garden to have on my bedside table and wondered if this might very well be the last of this years summer flowers...

This afternoon was spent on a five mile sponsored walk with my Brownie unit. Everyone did really well and the girls enjoyed picking some brambles along the way...

Tonight I have my popcorn ready and I'm just about to watch the Strictly Come Dancing launch show. It has been a busy but lovely weekend! I hope you have all had a good one too?

Good things this week

Our apple tree is starting to produce quite a bit of fruit now. The apples are quite small but they are crisp and sweet and Miss M adores picking one off the tree in the morning to take to school...

I have enjoyed some crochet time. I am still making lots of coloured squares with a third round of white for my latest blanket...I adore the fresh colours and love how the white makes them 'pop'. These simple squares are so enjoyable to make and I know I'm going to really like the finished blanket as I have wanted to make one like this for a while. Notice I am still not sewing the yarn ends in as I finish each square?! I'm going to have literally hundreds of these to sew in at the end, it seems I will never learn...

Pretty carnations on my living room windowsill...

Wine with 2 very good friends yesterday evening with plenty of time to catch up, to talk and laugh. I love having friends over and we had a really nice evening...

Hope you have had some good things in your week too? I'm looking forward to the weekend now...I'm off this weekend and G is only working for some of it. I can't wait to have some time with my little family! Wishing you a lovely weekend too.
