This week has been another really busy one. Work has been hectic and I have had a few extra things to do for that as well. And of course, the school summer holidays are in full swing here, so in between working, I have been busy arranging play dates for Miss M, taking her out and about and generally keeping her entertained! We had a barbecue last night with lovely friends of ours which was great even though it rained the whole time!
Anyway, here are some of the pretty parts from my week...
A bedside posy...
A sweetie cake, made and decorated by Miss M...
My new apron which I treated myself to on Friday. It was much needed as my old one was in quite a state! I love the pretty print on this one...
Crochet! It always makes me happy to get some crochet time in my week, even if it's just a little. This week I have finished making the squares for my granny square blanket and am now in the process of sewing all those yarn ends in....
Cheery yellow roses on my front windowsill. These were given to me by my lovely friend last night. I adore having fresh flowers around the house...
Happy things in my week! Next week is set to be a busy one too as it is my long week at work....but then I am on annual leave for almost 3 weeks! I cannot wait. Lots of time to spend with my sweet Miss M and to catch up with friends and family. Happy days.
X
PS. Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my tea cosy! They are much appreciated :)
Flowers in the house is one of my favourite simple pleasures - even better when they're handpicked! Good luck for next week x Jane
ReplyDeleteBBQs in the rain are great aren't they? We won't let the weather get in the way of our plans!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous that you've got 3 weeks off work (although I'm off next week), I know you'll be busy but I'd love a nice long break from doom ;-)
Hope the end sewing passes quickly! It's my least fave job. Looking forward to seeing the blanket :-)
Your new apron is pretty :-) !
ReplyDeleteAn all time favourite, flowers in the house, that can brighten even the dullest of days. Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your finished blanket. X
ReplyDeleteOooh lots of goodies here Marianne! Miss M is doing well with her cake baking isn't she - I could pick those sweeties off (we call them 'lollies' here) and scoff the lot! Your roses are beautiful and I'm rather attracted to your new apron - a girl's gotta have a lovely apron. You'll be looking forward to your holidays, good timing while Miss M is off too of course. Enjoy the finishing off of your blanket - I'm looking forward to seeing it. xoJoy

ReplyDeleteHappy post - tut tut lady, do you not weave them in as you crochet!!!??? I always think I will remember to and then I forget when I am musing colour changes. Jo xxx
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely photos. I have also been sewing in lots of ends on a crochet blanket.
ReplyDeleteThis next week will pass in no time and then you will be free to rest and rela.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,

Happy happies! I love your new apron, it's so pretty. Mine is getting worn out too and I'm always on the lookout for the next candidate. :)

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty post full of lots of colours and flowers! Your new apron is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love having fresh flowers around even on the greyest of days they give you a little sunshine. I know what you mean about being busy at work. I'm struggling to write my blog at the moment but am desperately trying to keep up with everyone elses and leaving comments so you all know I'm still around. Lucky you three weeks off. I am hoping to take sometime over the summer but not quite sure how I am going to fit than in either at the moment.

Lovely Marianne so sorry I have not been around - life has been tooooo busy for all the wrong reasons! I am just catching up with all your fabulous news. Your views of Dunure Castle bought a tear to my eye - we had some lovely holidays around that region when my husband was well and I am hoping one day we will return there again - such lovely places and people. Marianne I just adore your tea cosy, it is stunning and fits in with all the lovely pieces of cutlery and dishes - you do have an amazing eye for colours and settings. It is always a joy to visit you Marianne, sending you my bestest hugs and loves
