Our apple tree is starting to produce quite a bit of fruit now. The apples are quite small but they are crisp and sweet and Miss M adores picking one off the tree in the morning to take to school...
I have enjoyed some crochet time. I am still making lots of coloured squares with a third round of white for my latest blanket...I adore the fresh colours and love how the white makes them 'pop'. These simple squares are so enjoyable to make and I know I'm going to really like the finished blanket as I have wanted to make one like this for a while. Notice I am still not sewing the yarn ends in as I finish each square?! I'm going to have literally hundreds of these to sew in at the end, it seems I will never learn...
Pretty carnations on my living room windowsill...
Wine with 2 very good friends yesterday evening with plenty of time to catch up, to talk and laugh. I love having friends over and we had a really nice evening...
Hope you have had some good things in your week too? I'm looking forward to the weekend now...I'm off this weekend and G is only working for some of it. I can't wait to have some time with my little family! Wishing you a lovely weekend too.

Yes the feeling is completely mutual here, I was so excited this morning when the kids jumped in bed and I could tell them that it was the weekend and they were home again. Needless to say I think I am a little more excited than they are :-). Its been only four days of school and it feels like forever! Loving your pretty crochet and yes my dear you need to weave in those ends, trust me, I am going through the same thing and I am trying to find other things to do just so I can put it off!! Hope you have a lovely weekend xoxo
ReplyDeleteLovely happy things Marianne.

ReplyDeleteLovely squares, yikes for the ends! So glad the weekend is here, have a lovely one xx
ReplyDeleteHoping you enjoy your family weekend. I love the idea of being able to pick your own apple before school. Perfect. Juliex
ReplyDeleteYour apples look very yummy ! Always nice to have your own fruit in the garden...
ReplyDeleteAnd strange coincidence - I have exactly the same colour carnations, sitting on my table at the moment... I love carnations, they're so lovely "oldfashioned". Plus they keep a really long time in a vase !
Have a great weekend !!
Xxx, Ingrid
Those squares look so pretty all together in a basket...
ReplyDeleteWine and good friends are an excellent combination ;-).
Have a fun weekend together, love from Mirjam.
Great post. Jo x
ReplyDeleteLoving your crochet squares, they will be a delight. Enjoy your weekend free from work -precious times.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of wine ready to share-perfect, nice to have a chit chat, relax and 'me time' with adults.
Enjoy
Helen
I love the pink pillows and Granny blanket folded up on your couch! Sounds like a fun evening. Good luck with all those ends! Ugh! Godspeed. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your square - can't wait to see the finished blanket!
ReplyDeleteThe apples look yummy and how lovely that Miss M can pick one for school each day. Your crochet squares are pretty but oh Marianne, do those yarn ends before it's too late!!! :o) Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteJane xx
You look so cozy crocheting away.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I hope that you have a great weekend! I have to make myself sew ends in as I go otherwise I would leave them all to the end and have loads to do as well!! xx
ReplyDeleteJust catching up here. I do hope you're enjoying your weekend. And your crochet. I'm trying, again, to teach myself how ... I am in awe of anyone who can hook up a blanket!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say, those apples look delicious, and so shiny and red they put me in mind of Snow White!
ReplyDeleteA pretty, pretty post! Our apple tree is just starting to sweeten those apples perfectly, what a joy it is to pick them! Love the squares, as always I wish I could just sit beside you and hook away with pastels all day...Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteWe've had a good apple crop this year and the apples seem to be bigger that previous years which is good. I never sew in my ends until the end! You never know when you might have to rip back and that's very hard to do if you can't find where to start.
ReplyDeleteWine (or just a cup of tea) with friends is truly one of life's great joys, especially when there's lots of laughter too. x
ReplyDeleteI love those flowers on your windowsill. So gorgeous. And those granny squares are looking lovely too! x
