...to make some pretty summer skirts for my Miss M like I did last year. I have a wee bit of spare fabric to use up and I'm also going to Glasgow with a friend next Friday so I'm sure a little visit to Remnant Kings will take place...
...to make lots more of these closed granny squares to make a blanket. I love this combination of colours, they have a sort of soft, vintage look to them I think. The pattern is from the wonderful Attic24 and the link to Lucy's blog can be found in my side bar...
...I went yarn shopping with my lovely mum this week and chose this soft, pretty pink yarn and bright pink ribbon to make another little cardigan. This one will be for Miss M to wear with her little summer skirts. Again, I'll use the pattern for the Sugar & Spice cardigan from Simply Crochet magazine...
...I'm doing a craft swap with a friend. She requested a tea cosy so I made her this one...I must admit I really like it and now want one for myself! The pattern is by Bella Coco and the link to her blog is again in my side bar. There is a lovely clear tutorial and also a step by step video. Another friend has requested a tea cosy in the same pattern but she has a bright red teapot and so I'm trying to think of colours that would look nice. I'm not sure...any ideas?!
So those are my crafty plans...plenty to keep me busy over the next few weeks!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

I love the tea cosy, black/grey would look wonderful with red.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! I am a big fan of turquoisy blue and cream with red.
ReplyDeleteSo many crafty plans! I hoe you have all the leisure time you need to get working on them this weekend! Cheers!

I think black & white or grey & white would look good on a red tea pot.
ReplyDeleteI love the summery colors you are choosing for your wonderful makes.

I can't wait to see your skirts, Marianne. I'm so glad you enjoy making them too. I really need to see if I can buy that magazine here because that cardi is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea cosy to swap with your friend. Her tea pot will be very happy and so will she!! have fun with all of your makes. xx
ReplyDeleteThey're all lovely, colour filled crafty plans. Have a wonderful time crocheting and sewing and enjoy your trip to Glasgow with your friend! X
ReplyDeleteLove the tea cosy colours, i wouldn't want to part with it either. The fabric is so pretty and the pink yarn will go well with it for the cardi. I too have been making those little solid granny squares from lucy's pattern, so easy to follow. I look forward to seeing your blanket coming along.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours in all the photos. I fancy making one of those little squares blankets too - much fewer ends to sew in! The fabric reminded me that I bought a pattern and fabric last year and still haven't had time to do anything with it. Also wanted to let you know that I'm not on instagram. I've thought about it but my phone's not really up to it. I just checked out yours to get my Ladybird Diaries fix. x
ReplyDeleteBusy as usual M! x
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely crafty plans, Marianne! Your tea cosy is very pretty, you should certainly make one for yourself too! Love all your pretty coloured yarns and fabrics here. Happy making, and happy week ahead.

ReplyDeleteLove the colours of your squares. I learned myself to crochet last year. I started buying Simply Crochet but found the patterns too difficult. I think I need a little tuition to progress further. I will have a look at the tea cosy tutorial. Joan at www.aviewtothefells.com
ReplyDeleteWhat about a cornflower blue with a little yellow for a red teapot to look summery? You have lots of crafty plans to enjoy, I'm looking forward to seeing your makes, especially the skirts as I'm not very good at getting my sewing machine out. Have a good week. Hx
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the skirts and little cardigan you make will be gorgeous. That tea cosy is great. What about black or black and cream for the red tea pot? Or duck egg blue?
ReplyDeleteYou get through your projects so quickly Marianne,so it feels like there is always something fresh to see on your blog. What about a strong '70's turquoise and white combo for the red teapot tea cosy? X
ReplyDeleteMmm, lovely! How about pale blue and pale green for the cosy, or pale aqua and pale pink, or turquoise and cream, as others have suggested, or all of the above!! Loving your blog : ) Jen
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute tea cosy! I'm going to have to make one now! I've been playing around with those solid granny squares too, love the colours or yours xx
