Blog Inspiration (and a scarf...)

Reading one of my favourite blogs last week, Primroses & Petticoats and specifically, this post with the gorgeous CK inspired blanket, I found that I really, really wanted to make something in similar colours. I decided against a blanket as I already have two in progress, and so opted for a scarf.

I searched around the internet for a pattern, and came across this gorgeous CK inspired cowl from the beautiful Inverleith blog. The moment, I saw this, I just loved it. I bought the yarn the next day and had made my scarf within a few days. I decided to make mine a scarf rather than a cowl, so instead of sewing up the end pieces, I added more trebles in red along each end...

I really, really love it...you may be able to tell that from all the photos?!

I used Sirdar Snuggly yarn for this, the colours were perfect and it really is very soft and snuggly. There is lots of yarn left, enough for at least one more scarf, maybe even two. My mum really liked it so I am going to make one for her and I also think that a nice, bright CK scarf would make a lovely Christmas gift for the females on my gift list...

Happy weekend everyone!

X

  1. I have bought some lovely yarn to crochet a scarf when I finish at least one of my two blankies, but I wish that I had these colours!! It is so lovely and exactly the right colours for CK, I scrolled down to look at the pics first, and I assumed that it was something from CK until I went back and read. You really are such a great crocheter!!

  12. Very colourful! A friend made me a purple scarf like this a few years ago as a surprise. I really loved it because it was nice and long and wrapped around my neck a few times. I used it a lot. I hope you enjoy yours just as much.

  14. So pretty, Marianne! I love the bright colors and your stitches are so neat. You did a great job with it. I love your rainbow necklace too. I used to have lots of different rainbow things when I was a kid; shoelaces, hair bows, barrettes, a belt. I love rainbow accessories and I wish I still had them all! :)

  25. Marianne your scarf is just beautiful and looks so cosy. I started one last year for one of my granddaughters and finished it but made it with granny squares and it was a faff making it up - I need to make two more but yours looks so much better and, from the sounds of it, wouldn't take long to do. The colours are just adorable, I will certainly have a look at the blogs you have mentioned. Thank you for a lovely post and for always supporting me Marianne, it means such a lot.
    Have a fantastic weekend
    Lots of love as always
