This week has been a week for...
Browsing my crochet books for ideas and also getting back into reading novels again. This dark and grey January we are having is making staying cosy inside with a good book a very appealing option. At the beginning of the week I finished The Proof of Love by Catherine Hall which I really enjoyed, it has stayed with me and I have found myself thinking about it quite a lot. The sign of a good read, I think. I am now reading Wonder by R J Palacio and I can barely put it down...
Going to knit and natter with a lovely friend...
Enjoying a bunch of colourful and pretty flowers...
Finally getting around to writing my thank you letters for Christmas gifts received. Using very pretty stationary definitely makes this a much more enjoyable task...
Making corners of my home cosy and pretty with fragranced candles...
It was a pretty good week altogether really! It's nice to have some time off through the week and now I will be working all weekend but I hope everyone has a good one, whatever you are up to.

Hello Marianne
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely week, but pooey to working at the weekend.
Like you I judge a good book by how much I keep thinking about it after I've finished it, and January seems the perfect month for curling up with a good book.
Don't work too hard,
Kate x
Oh yes, our thank you's only went out this week too but at least we send them! X

ReplyDeleteI'm a big reader too. I'm pretty sure I read Wonder a year or so ago - about a young boy with a facial disfigurement? It really is a superb story :)
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a good book to share with my book club, I am wondering if The Proof of Love might be a good one to choose. Thank you for posting about it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful images, I want it all. I have read that book and loved it
ReplyDeleteA very nice looking afternoon tea. Very jealous :-) You're good writing thank you notes, I feel bad now. Maybe I'll do some too :)
ReplyDeleteThe colder it gets out there, the more I'm enjoying reading too. Tonight with biting winds & snow will definitely see me on the couch with tea & a good book and a scented candle burning merrily on the coffee table. The bright colours in your home makes everything cheery & snug :) Love that tea pot! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely week Marianne. A good book and some crochet (and perhaps some cake) are all I feel I want at the moment, the weather is so awful. Hope you had a lovely weekend.
