Simple, happy pleasures

A cup of tea in the garden whilst enjoying the sunny, crisp afternoon we are having...

Baking with my girl. Hot chocolate fairy cakes, one of our favourite things to bake and eat...

Gorgeous new yarn. Two balls of pretty pink Sirdar Ella, I adore this yarn and I am really looking forward to making a scarf for myself with it to wear in the Spring. I also purchased a ball of James C Brett Aria DK in a soft grey, simply because I thought it was so beautiful...it is so soft and has some really lovely little sequins running through it...

Miss M picked this little posy of flowers from the garden for me this morning. I now have them proudly displayed in a jam jar on the kitchen windowsill. Pretty spring flowers...

What simple things have been making you smile this week?

X

  1. That yarn looks lovely and so do those cakes.
I love the simple things. My little bug has been riding his bike now that the sun is starting to win over the rain, so that has been making me happy :)

  7. Getting out in the garden preparing it for the turf we are going to lay in a couple of weeks made me happy today. Seeing my granddaughters and knowing that next week my Aussie grandchildren will be home is definitely going to be a pleasure.

  9. I love the Sirdar yarn, it looks as if it contained something sparkly. It'll make a beautiful scarf. The signs of spring make me happy, there are more and more every day. Thank you for visiting my own space Marianne, I love to see new visitors. Stranded knitting is not as difficult as it looks, I have avoided it for years and ended up attending a course to learn to do it. Cx

  12. The best kind of all, the simple things. It doesn't get better than this. I read somewhere today that the best things in life are the things we feel and not see and how very true. I have been enjoying some time in the sunshine today with a cuppa and a little 'light' reading and also spending some time with my man. Enjoy your week lovely Marianne xoxo

  30. I could easily eat one (or several for that matter) of those cakes! Your new yarn looks lovely, the grey is so soft and fluffy looking it almost has a slightly 'misty' look about it (know what I mean or does that just sound weird?). Have a lovely week.
