Ellie the very small elephant

I made this little elephant brooch this week for my niece's birthday. She is a very girly girl and likes all things cute and pretty so hopefully she will like this tiny brooch. The tutorial came from issue fifteen of Mollie Makes - it said in the instructions that it would only take an hour to make and it really did!

I think it's sweet and would actually like one for myself but I'm unsure if I'm perhaps too old to wear a cute elephant brooch?! I will definitely make at least one more anyway as Miss M has decided that she would really like one too!

Thank you for the lovely comments recently - they are always read and always very much appreciated :)

  1. Very lovely! Why are you too old ... don't be daft ... wear what you want, that's what I say!

If we did what we really wanted instead of conforming to what we think is 'normal' we'd all be a lot happier! and there'd be an awful lot of people going around in elephant brooches ...

    Have a lovely day

Of course working in a school with kids, I get away with a lot more than the average bear, but I say that you're never too old ... wear what you want! So precious! I'm going to make one for Hannah!

  18. You are NEVER too old to wear an elephant brooch, do you hear me??!!! I love brooches and the older I get, the more I wear. Particularly handmade ones. They add a pretty stamp of individuality to a cardigan. So off you pop and make one for yourself! ;-)

  22. Ladybird I just adore this - I wear a brooch every day, wore them when they were completely out of fashion but I am back in vogue now! I will certainly be having a go at this one, it looks so lovely in the colours you have chosen, would look really sweet on a bag as well or a cushion. I put brooches on all the bags I make as I think it adds a little more. Thank you for a wonderful post as always Ladybird, have a lovely weekend
    Lots of love
