Reasons to be cheerful...

So, this week the weather has been very grey, wet and generally miserable. Miss M returned to school on Wednesday after the October break and I have been mostly staying home since then, keeping busy and myself cheerful with happy and colourful things...

I finished a little blanket that I had been making for my cousin's baby. It's really quite a wee blanket and only measures 62cm by 70cm...really just large enough for a crib or car seat. But, I'm pleased with it, it only took a week or so to crochet and I enjoyed every minute of making it....

I have been enjoying these pretty and bright flowers on my kitchen table...

I have started 2 new crochet projects. A pair of wrist warmers for myself and a cushion cover in pretty shell stitch to match my granny squares blanket for our bed. I am enjoying both although the yarn for the wrist warmers is a bit of a pain to work with. Hopefully it will be worth it on the end...

I have just finished making some white chocolate rocky road for G to take into work tommorrow. He and his workmates enjoy a sweet treat on Fridays...

Thank you all so much for the lovely, lovely comments about my blanket on my last post!  I really do appreciate them so much and I also appreciate that you still come and visit me here even though I haven't been posting as frequently lately....thank you.

X

  2. The wee baby blanket is beautiful - just big enough. It gets awkward to work with if a blanket is too big for the purpose.

  3. It may be bleak outside but your home looks sunny, gorgeous blanket and a practicable size for a pushchair too, very pretty.
I haven't done a shell stitch cushion as yet so looking forward to seeing the finish.
    Have a lovely week

  12. The baby blanket is so sweet. I'm in the planning stages of a blanket for a friend's baby to be born this winter and was trying to decide on a pattern. I really like the way yours looks with the white stripes. It looks easy and quick too. I think I might "steal" your idea. :)
