So the weather this weekend has been really awful...stormy and cold with lots of wind, rain and hail. We haven't been outside much except to take Miss M to her swimming lessons this morning and yesterday. Well, actually, G has been out...him and his buddies went mountain biking this morning when the storm was at its worst. Completely crazy, I tell you.
Miss M and I have enjoyed keeping cosy indoors...we have had the wood burner on since early afternoon both days, we have made pancakes and had hot chocolate and lots of tea! I have also been enjoying some crochet (of course!) whilst Miss M has been reading, drawing and playing with her Christmas toys. I am making a cushion which is so colourful and cheerful...I am loving it! I m going to put it together tonight so will be able to show you really soon...
There are lots of benefits to grey, cold January days aren't there?!
Hope you are all keeping cosy too.

I fear you have more stormy weather coming to you this week. Keep cosy and warm and happily hooking x x x
ReplyDeleteI love getting cosy on a dark winter's day; as long as I don't have to go out, that is! As the Danes put it, your post is very hygge! The cushion cover colours look very bright (and the flower centres are gorgeous!) but please, please, please can I have a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows as well?

ReplyDeletemy husband went out biking, too! I quite enjoy walking the dog in the stormy weather but I find it difficult to warm up again afterwards. It is just lovely to stay cosy! x

ReplyDeleteMade me smile when I saw all those cosy pictures and the forecast doesn't get any better with more storms heading your way. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though you found the perfect things to do on a stormy weekend to stay warm and cosy! Not sure about the mountain biking though... I think that your lovely activities would have suited me better! xx
ReplyDeleteSo many bright colours, I love it! I've been hibernating too, it's the only way to go in this weather! :)
ReplyDeleteThese certainly are days to keep warm indoors. I'm loving all the cosy things you and Miss M have been doing- baking, cooking, crafting. I'm sure the new cushion is going to be beautiful. Can't wait to see it! x
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely picturesxx
ReplyDeleteLove your water bottle cozy. Every time I see one I make a mental note to make myself one. One of these days I'll get around to it seeing as how I have a whole list of projects I'm anxious to start.

Looks like a perfect set up to me :-) If I didn't have to work I wouldn't be going outside either it's just horrid. Lots of tea and cake needed!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your cushion, hope it brightens up your house in these dark days x

ReplyDeleteIt looks so relaxing and cozy. I can't wait to see your cushion. I'm sure it's going to be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend! Bee xx
ReplyDeleteSatying inside at the fire, drinking tea and crocheting is a great way to spend a January day. I also made pancakes recently and I have that Nicki Trench book. I made the blossom shawl from it (with a few tweaks).
ReplyDeleteHasn't the weather been mostly terrible? Just right for cosying up inside. I'm looking forward to seeing the cushion :-) xx
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a perfect, cozy weekend to me.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
Nothing like staying in when the weather is rubbish, and there is crocheting to be done!
