A little pink dress

I finished the little baby dress I started last week. I absolutely loved making this and I really didn't want to put it down whenever I started working on it!

The pattern is pretty simple and is worked from the top down which meant there was minimal sewing up.  This was definitely a good thing as that's the part I struggle with whenever I make garments. I'm sure that I will make this wee dress again as it was a pleasure to crochet and I love how it's turned out.

The pattern is from Cute & Easy Crocheted Baby Clothes by Nicki Trench. I adore this book, the patterns are so pretty and there is a good variety of items for boys and girls. I really recommend it if you have wee ones to make things for.

The yarn I used was Sirdar Snuggly (my favourite baby yarn!) in shade Little Bud.  I used some cute little daisy buttons for the back.  The dress is made to fit a 6-9 month baby.

I am going to be an Aunty again soon and if the baby is a girl I will definitely be giving her this little dress as a gift! In fact, I'm thinking of making a blanket to coordinate with it as well...

  1. It is beautiful and I love the stunning buttons they are a real delight.

  2. This is so sweet! I love the daisy buttons and decorations. I struggle with sewing up too - a colleague went on a course to learn tips for getting a more professional finish for her knitting. I'd like to do something similar. X

  3. It's really lovely ! Such a sweet present for a baby girl. You'll be a very popular auntie with pretty handmade presents like this! X

  4. It's so lovely. The gentle colour and daisy buttons are such a pretty combination. I often wish I'd been able to crochet when my two were babies - just think of the things I could've made! x

  5. So sweet, especially the buttons :) I love the sort of antiquey pink yarn you've used, gorgeous colour

  6. That's so cute! Your niece is going to be very lucky having an aunt that can make her things like that. xx

  7. I thought I recognized the dress- I have the same book. The dress is really beautiful and such a lovely colour.

  8. It is a beautiful dress and would make a lovely gift, especially with a matching blanket! Congratulations to your and your family on the forthcoming baby! xx

  9. What a sweet little dress! I'm always wishing I'd been better at crochet when my daughter was a baby.

  10. Absolutely gorgeous!! I saw that chair on Instagram as well, so beautiful, did you make it yourself?
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  15. Oh so pretty and feminine! Fantastic colour choice too x

  16. Hi ! I'm trying to make the same dress, but I think there was problem with the translation (my book is in Portuguese). Can someone give me the pattern of row 7 (top of the dress) ? Is it the last one for the top of the dress ? In my book it doesn't add up, and it's the last one :-(

Thank you for visiting and if you feel like leaving a comment that would be lovely...xxx
