Hello! I'm just popping in quickly this morning before I go to work to show you the appliqué cushion I have finished.
I bought the cushion from here and then simply added the heart using bondaweb, then stitched around it using embroidery thread. I like the simple prettiness of it and it looks bright and fresh in the living room.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

This week my hook has been very busy indeed! I have started a scarf for myself using my new Sirdar Ella yarn. It is from the same pattern as I made my friends scarf...
I am also still busy with the daisy blanket and have made several more squares...
More crochet here...

A cup of tea in the garden whilst enjoying the sunny, crisp afternoon we are having...
Baking with my girl. Hot chocolate fairy cakes, one of our favourite things to bake and eat...
Gorgeous new yarn. Two balls of pretty pink Sirdar Ella, I adore this yarn and I am really looking forward to making a scarf for myself with it to wear in the Spring. I also purchased a ball of James C Brett Aria DK in a soft grey, simply because I thought it was so beautiful...it is so soft and has some really lovely little sequins running through it...
Miss M picked this little posy of flowers from the garden for me this morning. I now have them proudly displayed in a jam jar on the kitchen windowsill. Pretty spring flowers...

With it being Valentines day this week, I really wanted to crochet a little heart of some sort. I looked around Pinterest and came across this lovely tutorial.
Although it took me a few attempts to get right, I am now happy with how my little heart has turned out! I used a 3mm hook and scraps of Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK, with some pretty CK ribbon to make a hanging loop.
What have you been crocheting this week? As always, if you would like me to link up to your post, just leave a little note in the comments. And speaking of comments, thank you for all the lovely ones recently, they are always read and always appreciated....

This week I have continued to work on my daisy blanket in any spare moments I have had. I am enjoying making this so much and have even found myself crocheting the odd square after a twelve hour shift! Unheard of for me, usually I am too tired to do anything after work except flop in front of the television for a short while before bed...I think I am actually addicted to making this blanket!
This morning it is grey and damp outside again, but I am keeping cosy inside. The wood burner is lit and I have a hot cup of tea and my crochet making me happy.

1.... a gorgeous vintage teacup, saucer and side plate which I received as a very kind gift on Friday. I just love this little set and it fits in nicely with the rest of my (little) collection...
2... a new crochet project. Inspired by some beautiful daisy blankets I have seen on Pinterest, I have started a new blanket. I am enjoying making these simple but pretty squares so much and all other WIPS have been set aside in favour of this project....
3... an hour to myself in my busy week to enjoy a cuppa, a slice of lemon drizzle cake and a little reading. I finished reading Wonder and I honestly cannot recommend it enough, it was fantastic. A few of my workmates and I have started a little book club. We plan to read a book a month and to meet up to chat about it, probably over tea and cake with maybe the occasional glass of wine! I am really excited about it! I have wanted to join a book group for a long time, I think it will motivate me to read more and maybe also to try books that I wouldn't normally chose. Our first read is The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty...
Happy moments in a very busy week!
