Cosy November Evenings

Although, it is now getting dark around tea time here, and the weather has been mostly grey and drizzly, I have found that I am really quite enjoying my cosy evenings indoors...

I love having lots of candles on in the living room...

The wood burner has been lit most evenings, keeping the house really toasty warm...

I have been busy knitting Christmas gifts, in lovely chunky and cosy yarn...

The fairy lights have been on in the kitchen a lot recently, I adore fairy lights and love how atmospheric and inviting they make a room...

It was lovely to settle down together last night when Miss M was in bed with a glass of something nice (wine for me, beer for G). We watched the last part of The Escape Artist...

Cosy evenings are great for working on craft projects, I especially want to knit at the moment...I often feel like this in the colder months. I have quite a few projects on the go to keep me busy, particularly Christmas gifts...

Hope everyone is having a lovely, cosy weekend!

X

  1. Your home looks so cosy and inviting! I do love to light a few candles myself and snuggle down on the sofa to watch tv. If the lights are off I find I cant see very well to do my crafting.

  2. Looks cosy! I used to be a candle maniac but I set fire to a picture frame on the mantelpiece once and have been a bit dubious since but that was 10 years ago and I think it is time to get a few out now. Jo x

  3. What a lovely cosy home you have, I love to turn off all the lights and just have the Christmas tree lights on (ours went up last week!) There is nothing like dimmed lighting in the evening.

  11. All those warm flames on candles & woodstoves ... your house does look snug! Whenever we put a fire on in our family room, it heats the room SO much that it gets uncomfortable (especially combined with the heat coming off the TV screen) ... so we wait until the really cold winter days arrive. Thanks for your note on my blog ... I'll be keeping an eye out for further news on the swap. Wendy x

  14. This is a beautifully comforting and inviting post lovely Marianne - I miss my wood burner from our previous homes - we now have reverse-cycle air conditioning which is very handy but not the same on cold winter nights! Your home shots always look so cosy and happy! Nice to see your knitting there - lovely colour too! Hugs, Joy xo
