Quite a few of our friends are having babies this year, so naturally I have a couple of baby blankets on the go in preparation! The pretty little circles above are the start of a girly blanket. The pattern is the Sunshine Granny Baby Blanket by Little Doolally. I have to apologise yet again for my lack of technical blogging skills as I still haven't worked out how to do a link when blogging from my phone. Sorry about that! But there is a link to Little Doolally's gorgeous blog in my blog list on my sidebar. ( I think it was a fluke that I managed to do that link!)
My striped blanket above seems to have been put on hold. I really love the colours in this and I love crocheting stripes, but...I think that I've made the foundation chain just a bit too long as doing one row seems to take ages! It's going to be a huge blanket. Too big maybe? I'm not sure, I may frog it and start again, I'm undecided as yet.
The Camellia blanket from Cute & Easy Crochet. I'm still really loving making this blanket although I think it's one that will take me a while to finish as I want it to be quite a good size. I really love making the flower squares though, they are so pretty, and the plain squares are ideal to make when watching television in the evenings as they don't require too much concentration.
Another Sunshine a Granny Blanket! In boy colours this time with a silver edging. I'm enjoying making these little circles so much and they have actually been perfect for using up small amounts of yarn. Pattern as before is by Little Doolally and the link is in my sidebar.
So, four blankets in progress and to be honest I'm having to really stop myself from starting another. But I think four WIPs is enough at the moment!
Thank you so much for the lovely comments recently! Especially about my Pretty Circles Baby Blanket and my sewing efforts. It looks like lots of us are enjoying The Great British Sewing Bee again this year!
Wishing you all a lovely week ahead.

Ooooh yummy blankets, thought I was bad enough having so much on the go lol.I have 2 blankets a shawlette/scarf,dog blankie and just making a couple of pairs of very quick wrist warmers.I love stylecraft yarn, that fondant colour is gorgeous isn't it,I have the chunky too.I am also "hooked" on the Great British Sewing Bee,even watch the repeat lol.Happy Sunday.xx
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous, particularly the camellia which is going to be worth all the effort. I'm about to start the border on my blanket so am starting to think about making another - I've just started going to a knit and knatter at work and it would be the perfect easy project to take. But which pattern - there are so many lovely ones to choose from! x
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty blankets in progress! And it is always good to prepared as I noticed this year... so many pregnant friends at one, so I am busy making baby blankets too :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care

ReplyDelete4 blankets at once!? Do you ever get confused?
ReplyDeleteI have a stripe blanket on the go and I'm desperate to start a new granny square blanket for my bedroom, but I'm not sure it's a sensible idea.... and then I have the wool (but not the time) for a snowflake blanket for the winter!
So many pretty blanket! I hope this sunday my blanket in progress will increase with a lot of squares! Happy sunday!
ReplyDeleteAll 4 of your blankets are really pretty. I think it is only other crafters that realise the importance of having more than one WIP, it's essential isn't it? Well, that's what I tell myself anyway. Happy crocheting!

How wonderful to have all those babies on the way. Your blankets are looking beautiful already.
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, that is a lot of blanketing going on at your house! They will all be gorgeous I am sure and much loved by the recipients! Could the stripey one have the stripes going lengthways instead of across and then you might not have to do so much - does that make sense? xx
ReplyDeleteAll the blankets are looking lovely already. Those babies are so lucky!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a good week too. X
Four lovely blankets to be x
ReplyDeleteYour blankets are very pretty. I've also started a blanket with a foundation chain that was too long. I stuck with it, but it taught me to measure very carefully in future!
ReplyDeleteLovely blankets post :-)! I am also making a stripey one at the moment and I'm loving it...

I am so glad that I am not the only one who operates this way! LOL. I have so many projects at once, that I have to keep a notebook to remind me which stitches and which hooks I am using. I love each of these, especially the girly ones, as I am having a baby girl next month!
ReplyDeleteWow!! All these blankets look completely gorgeous!! They will make wonderful gifts for those lovely new babies!! Well done you - I don't think I could remember the patterns for each of them!! Well done! J9 x
