From the past week or so...
I bought a copy of Vintage Home by Sarah Moore this week after seeing it recommended on lots of blogs. The Works had it for £5.99 and I was lucky to get the last copy in the shop. I am pretty pleased with this little bargain, as I have found lately that some magazines cost almost as much as this, if not more! It's a really gorgeous book which I have been enjoying looking through in the evenings, lots of inspiration and nice little projects...
I have appreciated having this pretty bunch of flowers on my kitchen table...
I bought this tiny but sweet brooch at the car boot sale last weekend. It looks so pretty pinned to a cardigan or blazer. I really love it and feel that it was definitely £1 well spent...
My mum makes the best tablet ever. She made a batch for Halloween and we all enjoyed it very much. It's gorgeous with a hot cup of tea...
I am working all weekend so will not manage any crafting, but I plan to sit down with my crochet and a cuppa this afternoon before it's time to collect my lovely Miss M from school. Hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever you have planned...

That is certainly £1 well spent. have a happy weekend. Jo x
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I spied the very same book on one of the top shelves in The Works yesterday.........I'll have to see if it's still there tomorrow and persuade a taller fellow shopper to reach it down for me, lol.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your afternoon of crochet.
Beautiful photographs (I do love the spoon in your cup). It's good to get a bargain, and the tablet looks delicious, have a lovely afternoon :) xx
ReplyDeleteI've decided not to look at this post......I've brought myself that book for Christmas (years of unfortunate pressie have resulted in buying my own and putting them away, I'm hoping when the girls are older they'll have good taste) I'm so tempted to have a peak, you're tempting me.....stop it!!! :) x
ReplyDeleteAll of your flowers and flowery things are lovely! I know what you mean about the price of magazines, what is with that. Crazy prices some of them. Hope that you have a good weekend even though you are working. xx
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look so very pretty Marianne. How lucky to get the last copy of that lovely book, I hope you enjoy flicking through all those gorgeous pages. I have a weekend of sewing and rest lined up. I really hope you enjoy yours. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI miss The Works living over here! We always have to pay a visit when we're back in the UK! What a great find!!! :-)

ReplyDeleteThe brooch is really pretty, I thought it was an icing decoration!
Pretty photo's, I love your little brooch. The book looks great, I'll look out for that one. I bought Labour of Love from there on Friday for £4.99, it is a great book of girls knitting patterns. Have a good weekend. Debx
ReplyDeleteI love all of these. Your brooch is so pretty. I used to have a tiny pair of rose earrings sort of like that. I think they were made of clay and they didn't last very long but I really loved them.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say congrats for winning Dorothy's giveaway, such a lovely prize. Also wanted to mention that I have never heard of tablet before so thanks for sharing xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Marianne what a lovely post - I agree about the magazines and have been trying to cut down on the amount I buy as they can cost an horrendous price. So pleased you won the giveaway and it is being packed this minute to wing it's way to you - hope you like it. Have a fab weekend, love the brooch by the way - one of my trademarks is a brooch - yours is a little cutie.
ReplyDeleteBig hug

ReplyDeleteYour flowers look lovely and your brooch reminds me of one similar to one that my Nan had, but hers was yellow. Very pretty and a brilliant bargain.

ReplyDeleteThe tablet looks exactly like the one my Mum (being Scottish too of course) used to make - ah sweet memories! I love your little flower arrangement, and hope you get many brilliant ideas from your lovely new book, as well as happy times wearing that sweet little rose! Warm hugs, Joy xoxo
Such sweet things in this post. And I love proper tablet ... maybe your Mum would share her recipe?

I bought a book in TKMaxx yesterday which I'd been hoping to find in the discount shops - Clandestine Cake Club Cookbook - yay! I'm about to cancel the trial sub to a couple of magazines though as I just never get around to reading them. Love your little rose brooch. x
ReplyDeleteGood finds, especially the book. You are right about the price of magazines, books can be so much better value, especially when they're on offer.

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday,

ReplyDeleteI borrowed that book from the library not long ago - it's just lovely, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are stunning - I do love those large cabbagey thingies (yes, I think you will find that is an official horticultural term ..!)

Glad you found a copy - I got another one for my birthday, had forgotten to tell hubby I'd brought it after it went on my wish list!!!! Oops x
ReplyDeleteThat book is such a bargain! I bet it's good, I enjoyed her series in Country Living. Interesting to read that tablet is different to fudge. I think I've made some fudge in the past which came out like tablet, but quite unintentionally! x
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous finds- you've inspired me to keep my eyes open for some pretty things too- if only to wrap up for myself for xmas:)
