This morning, mum and I took the train to Glasgow and then a taxi out to the SECC where we went to the Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Show. We had been looking forward to this for ages! And it didn't disappoint...
A stunning display of stitchy postcards from the Embroiders Guild.
A display of Jane Austin fashions. This is the outfit Colin Firth wore as Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice!
Lots and lots of gorgeous fabrics...
Huge knitting needles and balls of yarn the size of small footballs!
I loved this beautiful stand with gorgeous smelling soaps and lots of crafty bits.
Beautiful buttons. I loved the bright colours of these...
Mum and I had the chance to try out some decopatch today - a craft I had never tried before, and I absolutely loved it! There were some little make and take workshops being held by the lovely lady who runs the Damselfly & The Queen Bee in Glasgow. We both decopatched a little heart and I am pretty happy with how mine turned out. We bought a decopatch starter kit and a few other decopatch bits and pieces and are planning a lovely crafty day with Miss M and both of us during the Easter holidays. I love crafting with my mum and my girl so I am really looking forward to this.
I also bought some lovely new fabrics and replenished my button stock. It had become quite depleted after all my button crafting a few weeks ago...
So we had a great day out and there was lots and lots of inspiration for new projects, always a good thing! I am going to spend this evening looking at my new crafty things and hopefully do some crochet too... Hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever you have planned :)

What a fantastic day out, I'm jealous! Oh, Mr Darcy's actual shirt! How I remember that moment on the TV when he came from the lake! I have seen the knitting needles and a crochet version at a craft fair at Sandringham. The woman there said how quick blankets are made, however you need A LOT of wool! Thanks for sharing your day out. Have a wonderful weekend. Chel x

How - did - you - manage - to - leave? Craft AND Mr Darcy's shirt - some clever marketing going on there and I for one love it! I've never tried decopatch either but it always looks so effective. Enjoy your making x Jane
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day out. I'm going to a quilt day today and am going to try really really hard not to bring back any fabric! I've done a few things in decopatch and have a gift to finish which needs to go in the post soon - I'll be blogging about it if it ever gets finished! x
