Best foot forward

Recently, I have been experimenting with some homemade beauty treatments. I have had lots of fun doing this, it's fairly cheap and it's so nice to have a little bit of pamper time - all good then.

I thought I would share a couple of things here. I do 12 hour shifts at work and am on my feet for a large part of that time, so the following are some things I been trying after a long day...

Vanilla, milk and honey foot soak

To a foot bath add : 1 small cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Top up with warm water and give it all a good stir before immersing your feet and relaxing for a good 15 minutes. So nice and relaxing and smells lovely.

Peppermint foot scrub

To a large bowl add: 100mls of olive oil, 200grams of caster sugar and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil. Mix everything together and put in an airtight container. This made 2 little 100ml kilner jars of foot scrub - I gave one to my mum and kept the other for myself. I have loved using this - it makes your feet feel lovely - so clean and fresh! It would make a nice little gift too...

I have a few more little treats I'm trying out and will share soon...

Xxxx

  3. Thanks for posting these. I tend to walk rather too much where I work and by the end of the day my blisters have blisters! (Once I took my slippers, great big boot ones, and then forgot I still had them on when meeting and greeting in the Boss' hall!!). I will definitely be making this (now 'pinning' your page!). Take care. Chel x

  4. I love the foot scrub - tasty!! I often try a facial scrub from honey and sugar - leaves my skin feeling gorgeous. What a lovely idea for presents as well - I can see these in little baskets of home made treats x Jane

  7. Both of these sound lovely and, after spending the evening staring at my not very attractive feet in yoga poses, they could definitely do with some pampering! x
